Marble Arch and
Yarrangobilly Caves
4th - 13th September
2009
These are the photos from a MSS trip to Yarrangobilly Caves. Rod and I arrived at the Berlang camping area around midnight on the 4th September. After a cold but fortunately dry night, we met Beth and Jim the next morning and set off to abseil into 'The Big Hole'. This was followed the next day by an exploratory wander down to Marble Arch. While Beth unfortunately had to return home, Rod and Jim made the very wise decision to pack up the camp, drive us into Cooma and find a motel room for the Sunday night. Thus we remained snug and warm when the weather changed and the rain moved in. The next morning we drove through the mist and rain to Caves House at Yarrangobilly, to spend a luxury week with fine food, fine company and some very fine caves.

Yarrangobilly Caves
As well as the caves on the permit we took the opportunity to have a look through some of the many show caves at Yarrangobilly, renowned for having some of the best decorated caves in the world. Unfortunately my photos don't quite do them justice...
